10 Best Golazos from World Football This Weekend

Ryan BaileyMay 17, 2015

Europe's major leagues may be reaching their conclusion and fatigue may be setting in, but there was no shortage of world-class goals over the weekend.

B/R's latest golazo ranking features exceptional efforts from the Premier League, La Liga, the Russian Premier League, Ligue 1 and the Polish Ekstraklasa. There are also some Bobby Dazzlers from MLS and Liga MX for your consideration...ย

10. Hulk (Zenit St Petersburg) vs. Ufa

1 of 10

Zenit St Petersburg won their fifth Russian league title on Sunday with a 1-1 draw at relegation-threatened FC Ufa.ย

Andre Villas-Boas' side earned a point thanks to another superb free kick from Hulk, who beat the keeper from around 30 yards with a stylish daisy cutter.ย

9. Leroy Fer (QPR) vs. Newcastle

2 of 10

Queens Park Rangers' bout with Newcastle on Saturday appeared to be one of the least appetising games in Premier League history, but it did give us one of the best goals of the weekend.ย

In the 61st minute, relegated QPR helped deepen the Magpies' woes when Leroy Fer scored the winner with a superb strike from range.ย

Hoops fans haven't had an awful lot to celebrate this season, so the goal was met with mild jubilation by the Loftus Road faithful.ย

8. Shane Long (Southampton) vs. Aston Villa

3 of 10

Southampton capped off a wonderful season at St Marys with a 6-1 demolition of Aston Villa on Saturday.ย

Sadio Mane stole the headlines with his record-breaking hat-trick, but the Saints' best goal was Shane Long's long-range effort that made it 5-0 after 38 minutes.ย

7. Djaniny Tavares (Santos Laguna) vs. Tigres

4 of 10

Tigres were eliminated at the quarter-final stage of the Liga MX playoffs on Saturday with a 1-0 home loss to Santos Laguna.ย

The winner came in the 69th minute when Nestor Calderonย played a long ball toย Djaniny Tavares, who showed exceptional control with his right foot before scoring from an acute angle with his left.ย

6. Danny Rose (Tottenham) vs. Hull

5 of 10

Hull's status as the likely recipients of the final Premier League relegation place was boosted on Saturday with a 2-0 loss at Tottenham.ย

Just after the hour mark, Danny Rose put the game out of the Tigers' reach by playing an excellent one-two with Ryan Mason before putting away a wonderful volley.ย

5. Ruben Rochina (Granada) vs. Real Sociedad

6 of 10

Granada clawed themselves out of the Primera Division relegation zone on Sunday with a vital 3-0 win over David Moyes' Real Sociedad.

El Grana put the icing on the cake two minutes before time when Ruben Rochina beat the keeper from just inside La Real's half. ย

4. Luso (Cordoba) vs. Rayo Vallecano

7 of 10

Relegated Cordoba suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, but the home fans were given a quantum of solace from a spectacular goal.

In the 56th minute, defensive midfielder Luso turned in a Borja Garcia cross with a textbook overhead kick.ย

3. Michael Bradley (Toronto) vs. New England

8 of 10

Toronto FC earned a 1-1 draw at New England on Saturday thanks to a solo golazo from star player Michael Bradley.

In the 53rd minute, the American midfielder charged through the final third, beating off four challenges before slotting across the face of goal.ย

2. Anthony Mounier (Montpellier) vs. Paris Saint-Germain

9 of 10

Paris Saint-Germain earned their third consecutive Ligue 1 title on Saturday with a 2-1 win at Montpellier.ย

The best goal of the afternoon wasย Anthony Mounier's consolation for the home side, which saw the winger whip a ball over Salvatore Sirigu and into the top corner.ย

The jury is out on whether Mounier fully intended to shoot, but it was a lovely finish regardless.ย

1. Jean Barrientos (Wisla Krakow) vs. Lechia Gdansk

10 of 10

Wisla Krakow kept European qualification rivals Lechia Gdansk at bay on Friday night with a 2-2 draw.ย

Krakow's second goal was something rather special fromย Jean Barrientos. The Uruguayan midfielder received the ball around eight yards from goal and proceeded to dazzle two defenders before casually placing a backheel into the bottom-left corner.ย
