Nate Craig-Myers Decommits from Auburn: Latest Details and Reaction
The University of Auburn's football program was dealt a major blow Wednesday night as elite class of 2016 wide receiver Nate Craig-Myers withdrew his commitment.
Josh Newberg of 247Sports was the first to report that the Tampa, Florida, native has decided against joining the Tigers for the time being:
According to 247Sports, Craig-Myers is a 5-star prospect and the No. 1 receiver in his recruiting class. He is also the No. 23 player overall, so losing a talent of his caliber is a massive disappointment for Auburn and its fans.
Per Newberg, Craig-Myers didn't have anything negative to say about Auburn after changing his mind: "I just want to thank the Auburn coaching staff for the opportunity and seeing the potential in me. But I have decided to open up my recruitment."
He will have no shortage of options now that he is back on the market, but 247Sports lists Florida State as the favorite. According to Tom D'Angelo the Palm Beach Post, the 6'2" wideout has a link to the Seminoles as well:
After making an initial decision that he wasn't comfortable with, one can only assume that Craig-Myers will do his due diligence and be a bit more cautious this time around.
There will be plenty of pressure on him to pick a school, though, because he has all of the makings of a game changer who could impact the college football landscape in 2016 based upon where he chooses to go.
