Mike Conley to Give Away 500 Tickets to Grizzlies Fans for Game 5
After Memphis Grizzlies fans have shown him an overwhelming amount of support during a tough time, point guard Mike Conley is thanking the fans by giving away 500 tickets to Wednesday's Game 5 between the Grizzlies and the Portland Trail Blazers.
Conley had to leave Game 3 early after suffering facial fractures as a result of an elbow to the face. The 27-year-old underwent surgery Monday and missed Game 4. He will also likely miss Game 5.
The point guard has received a lot of fan support as he recovers from the injury and wants to show his appreciation.
Conley spoke with NBA.com about his idea to give away tickets:
"It was such a disappointment to go down in Game 3, but my spirits were immediately lifted after all of the support that I received from fans around the world, but especially those right here in Memphis. As a way to say thank you, I'd like for them to be cheering us on tomorrow at Game 5 because there's no greater experience than the NBA Playoffs in Memphis.
"
The Grizzlies will be giving the tickets away at the FedExForum on Wednesday afternoon. Fans will be limited to two tickets per person.
Memphis leads the first-round playoff series 3-1.
