Recap

Valencia struggled to a 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano on Thursday, meaning the club is now tied with Sevilla in the race for the final Champions League ticket.
Goals from Adrian Embarga and Daniel Parejo cancelled each other out, as did straight red cards for Jorge Garcia Morcillo and Rodrigo. The latter was dismissed after an odd incident with goalkeeper Tono, who should also have been red-carded for provoking a reaction from Rodrigo.
In the standings, Valencia and Sevilla now sit level, with the former holding a significant lead in goal differential with four matches left to be played.
Barcelona took a giant step closer to winning La Liga on Tuesday, absolutely smoking Getafe, 6-0. Not only did that put them five points clear of Real Madrid (albeit with Los Blancos holding a game in hand), but it also put the Catalans nine goals ahead of their rivals in goal differential.
Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez were brilliant as ever, each notching two goals apiece. But something else frightening for the rest of La Liga and Europe, too, transpired on Tuesday, per Dermot Corrigan of ESPN:
That didn't seem to be lost to the trio, and Neymar posted this selfie on Instagram after the game:
Happy, dangerous and in-form—Barca are going to be tough to beat.
Truthfully, Real Madrid's primary focus at this point is probably on repeating as Champions League titleholders anyway. Real Madrid has the easier Champions League semi-final draw against Juventus (while Barcelona face Bayern Munich), and Los Blancos seem more taken by European glory over domestic glory in the first place.
It may be elementary anyway, as Barcelona are the more rested and more impressive club at the moment. Their superstar attacking trio is playing as a cohesive unit, their current tactics are enhancing the skills of the players involved and reflect manager Luis Enrique's philosophy and, perhaps most importantly (and surprisingly), the defense remains the most stingy in La Liga.
Of course, until Barcelona faces Atletico Madrid on May 16 (unless Real Madrid drop significant points before then), La Liga's title will hang in the balance. As usual, it will be Barca and Los Blancos in the running to snag it.
Levante earned a huge win in their chase to avoid relegation, meanwhile, defeating Cordoba, 1-0, and all but guaranteeing that Cordoba would be relegated. If either Almeria or Eibar earn a point this week, Cordoba will essentially be relegated barring goal differential.
Meanwhile, Athletic's aspirations of sneaking into the Europa League took a big hit in their 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad. Athletic is now six points behind Villarreal in that chase, and Villarreal have a game in hand.
Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid each kept their title hopes alive with victories on Wednesday. Fernando Torres scored the key goal for Atletico against Villarreal, while James Rodriguez scored on an amazing volley to lead Los Blancos past Almeria.
Sevilla shot past Valencia for the race to the final Champions League spot, beating Eibar 3-1 behind Carlos Bacca's brace. Valencia has a game in hand, however. Meanwhile, Elche's 4-0 win over Deportivo likely assured that Elche won't go down this season, while Deportivo remains two points behind Eibar and Almeria as they try to escape the relegation zone.
