Watford Clinch Promotion to Premier League: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction

Watford sealed their promotion to the Premier League on Saturday as they beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 in the lunchtime kick-off and other results went their way.

Three more points at the Amex Stadium put them in touching distance of England's top flight, and a Middlesbrough defeat at Fulham as well as a Norwich draw at Rotherham sealed it for the Hornets.

The Premier League welcomed Watford to its ranks:

Meanwhile, Kick TV provided the wild celebrations that ensued when the Watford squad knew they had clinched promotion, via full-back Miguel Layun:

Slavisa Jokanovic's side are now four points clear of third-placed Boro with one game remaining.

Bournemouth also sit four points back in second, but the Cherries have two games left to play, the first at home to Bolton Wanderers on Monday.

Watford's last season in the Premier League was in the 2006-07 term, when they were relegated as the division's bottom club.
