Tim Sherwood Returns for White Hart Lane Scare
Tim Sherwood's appointment at Aston Villa may not yet have brought about a revolution for the Birmingham club, but it's certainly improved their performances and general mood in the dressing room.
Tuesday evening's 3-3 draw against QPR showed just how Villa have improved in front of goal, and Christian Benteke is once again looking like a menace after bagging a hat-trick against the Hoops:
Saturday's trip to face former club Tottenham Hotspur comes well-timed for Sherwood, considering the north Londoners were slightly disappointed to draw 0-0 against Burnley last time out.
Sherwood would assuredly like to claim some revenge against his former employers, but Martin Laurence of WhoScored.com slated the draw at home to QPR, the hosts having needed to claw back from behind more than once:
The main positive for the Villans right now, however, is that they're at least scoring goals, something they weren't managing a lot of in the final months of Paul Lambert's tenure.
Even in their 3-1 defeat to Manchester United over the weekend, Villa looked threatening. They'll look to bring that same sense of danger to the nations' capital on Saturday.
Red Devils Notch Derby Triumph Over Out-Of-Sorts Citizens

All focus shifts to Old Trafford on Sunday as the two Manchester giants prepare for a clash that could shape each teams' top-four chances in itself—United and City currently sit third and fourth, respectively.
A 2-1 loss at Crystal Palace won't have gone down well at the Etihad Stadium, with Manchester City now trailing bitter rivals United by a point and at risk of falling outside the top four.
Going from likely title contenders to potentially missing out on the Champions League is an unthinkable fate for the Citizens, but the Red Devils are in an entirely more joyful thread of form.
Despite the loss at Selhurst Park, Manuel Pellegrini was pleased with his side's performance Monday, per the official Premier League Twitter account:
If Liverpool or Tottenham manage to win this weekend in conjunction and United defeat their local foes Sunday, it would see City's top-four status put in severe jeopardy.
Meanwhile, Louis van Gaal's men looked to be at their most confident en route to a 3-1 routing of Aston Villa, with Outside90 hailing the progress of Ander Herrera, who bagged two against the Villans:
United haven't lost a point at Old Trafford since their defeat to Southampton in January, conceding just three goals in their five home outings since that loss.
Last season may have seen City end with the spring in their step, but Van Gaal appears to have reached a familiarity within his squad and is mustering a triumphant second half to his maiden campaign in England.
