UK Back Pages: Sterling's Liverpool Contract-Impasse Interview Steals Headlines

Sean SwabyApr 1, 2015

Raheem Sterling and his contract impasse are in the spotlight again after the Liverpool star gave an exclusive interview to the BBC's Natalie Pirks and opened up about the situation.

No matter how the 20-year-old came off in his interview, the press were always going to jump all over his comments, especially in the aftermath of the slower international break.

Star Sport highlights Sterling's comments that he's not a "money-grubber" and that Roy Hodgson doesn't think Harry Kane will burn out in spite of his insistence to compete in the UEFA Under-21 Championships over the summer.

Mirror Sport focuses on Sterling's claim that he would have signed a new deal with Liverpool a year ago when they were challenging for the Premier League title. They also spark a rumour that Sam Allardyce will be the next manager of Queens Park Rangers.
