The Gunners host Brendan Rodgers' side in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday but may have to tackle the game without their versatile forward.
According to Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail, Welbeck is in a "race against time" to be fit for the match, but it's suggested he has responded well to treatment and has yet to be ruled out.

Welbeck Out for Italy Match
Saturday, March 28
The FA announced Saturday that Welbeck would not play against Italy and had been sent home due to his injury.
England manager Roy Hodgson talked about the injury, according to the announcement:
"We have a problem with James Milner who had to leave, we decided to let Leighton Baines go home and of course we lost Danny Welbeck, who unfortunately picked up a slight knee injury [against Lithuania].
"
Hodgson announced after Friday's match that Welbeck suffered an injury, per BBC Radio 5 Live.
Welbeck scored England's second goal and earned a 9.6 rating out of 10 on WhoScored.com. News of his knee injury definitely put a damper on the day.
However, the problem doesn't appear to be too serious, so it would be a bit premature to begin panicking too much, especially for Arsenal supporters.
