Jefferson Questionable for Spurs Game
Thursday, March 26
"Per Rick Carlisle, Richard Jefferson (back spasms) will be questionable vs. the Spurs," Earl K. Sneed of the Mavericks' official website reported.
Sneed indicated on Tuesday the team was calling Jefferson's injury "back stiffness" after he left that contest:
Jefferson, 34, had three points and one rebound in three minutes before exiting. He was replaced by Devin Harris.
The veteran forward has managed to stay largely healthy all season, playing in 65 of a possible 72 games. His role has fluctuated all year depending on the health of other players—largely Chandler Parsons—but Jefferson has managed to stay semi-effective. Heading into Tuesday night he was averaging 5.5 points and 2.6 rebounds per game, shooting 42.2 percent from three-point range.
The Mavericks should maintain their production with Jefferson out. Parsons has looked solid since returning, and Al-Farouq Aminu can pick up more minutes at small forward off the bench.
