Jones Expects to Play vs. Kings
Wednesday, April 1
Adam Wexler of KPRC-TV reported that Jones expects to play against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday after missing the team's last six games.
On March 31, Jones was upgraded to questionable for the contest against the Kings, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.
Feigen first reported that Jones suffered a rib injury against the Denver Nuggets on March 19. He was off to a hot start, scoring 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting before exiting.
Jones was averaging 12.5 points and 7.5 rebounds a game prior to March 19. According to Basketball-Reference.com, he has the second-highest player efficiency rating on the team.
It's probably a stretch to say that the Rockets aren't title contenders without Jones on the floor since James Harden and Dwight Howard set the tone for Houston, but he's firmly established himself as a solid scorer and dependable rebounder. Jones will need to stay healthy as the Rockets make their push for the postseason.
