Manchester City's Fernando Says Philippe Coutinho Is Better Than Neymar

Who is the best Brazilian player playing in Europe today?

You would expect most people would say Barcelona star Neymar—but Manchester City's Fernando does not agree.

The midfielder saw the devastating form of Philippe Coutinho firsthand when the Liverpool star scored the winner in the Reds' 2-1 victory over City earlier in March.

Fernando was impressed, saying, in quotes picked up by the Daily Mail, "I wanted to say 'well done' to him after his winning goal. To me, he is the best Brazilian playing in Europe at the moment."

Coutinho was left out of Brazil's squad for last summer's World Cup but has come back into contention under new coach Dunga.

Fernando, who joined Manchester City from Porto last summer, has represented Brazil at the under-20 level but has never been capped by the senior team.
