La Liga Fixtures 2015 Week 27: Schedule, Live Stream Info, Picks and Key Players

James DudkoMar 12, 2015

Real Madrid will be desperate to bounce back in the battle for top spot in La Liga. Los Blancos have endured a nightmare week after losing away to Athletic Bilbao then conceding four goals at home to Schalke 04 in the UEFA Champions League.

The former result knocked Los Merengues off the summit position in Spain's top flight. That slip allowed Barcelona to go first. Armed with the deadliest attack in Europe, Barca will take some stopping in this season's title race.

Here are the full fixtures for Week 27, including scheduling information and streaming details:

Key Players

Luis Suarez, Striker Barcelona

After a relatively slow start to his Barcelona career, Luis Suarez is beginning to show his best form. Few attackers in the game are as quick-witted and skilled as the mercurial Uruguayan.

He's struck 13 goals in all competitions this season, according to WhoScored.com. But it's the 28-year-old's 10 assists that really underline his value.

Suarez is at last approaching his best for Barcelona.

His prolific goalscoring exploits have often masked his technical qualities, but Suarez is one of world football's best creators. For all the controversy he often courts, there's an ironic selflessness in his game that makes Suarez the ideal foil for main man Lionel Messi.

But it isn't just Barca's great mini marvel who benefits from the former Liverpool star's presence. Cheetah-fast Brazilian sensation Neymar Jr. has also improved since Suarez arrived at the Camp Nou.

The South American ace has netted 26 goals this season, per WhoScored.com. He certainly doesn't look out of place next to such illustrious strikers.

Neymar recently claimed his partnership with Suarez and Messi is superior to Real's Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema forward line, per AS reporter Alex Casanovas.

B/R analyst Sam Tighe recently discussed the current differences between both:

Expect Suarez to tie the Eibar defence in knots and set up more than a few chances for his strike partners. He'll also get on the scoresheet in another emphatic Barca display.

Karim Benzema, Striker, Real Madrid

Barca may be scoring for fun, but old enemy Real have looked decidedly less potent in front of goal recently. Naturally, Ronaldo's relative "dry spell" and questions about Bale's ability to make the grade in Madrid usually dominate the headlines.

But perhaps the player under most pressure is Karim Benzema. The France international has always been a divisive figure among Los Blancos' supporters.

Although he sports the look of a traditional No. 9, Benzema has never played like a classic target man. Instead, the one-time Lyon hotshot displays a high degree of technical skill and flair.

Those attributes should make him a good foil for talisman Ronaldo. But instead, Benzema and Bale are often vying for the same turf the Portuguese powerhouse claims as his own.

Citing FIFA statistics, MailOnline writer Richard Arrowsmith detailed the problem. Like Bale, Benzema has to realise he must tailor his runs to create space for Ronaldo as much as to put himself in scoring positions.

A more sacrificial approach from Benzema can actually emphasise some of his more creative qualities. That will not only help the Frenchman get back to his best, but also establish the most effective pecking order in Madrid's forward line.

Elsewhere, reigning champions Atletico Madrid will find it tough to keep pace with the top two when they visit Espanyol. The Catalan club are a stubborn outfit who rarely roll over for the league's best.

But the return of clever forward Antoine Griezmann will spark Diego Simeone's team to a vital three points.

Look for fourth-placed Valencia to stay hot on Atleti's heels. Gifted pass-master Andre Gomes will weave some typical magic to unlock Deportivo's defence.

Ultimately though, the headlines will once again belong to Barca's electric forward line.
