Everton, meanwhile, are no strangers to the Barclays Asia Trophy, competing in the event in 2005. The Toffees lost both of their matches in penalty shootouts.
"We are very excited to bring the Barclays Asia Trophy to Singapore for the first time," said EPL chief executive Richard Scudamore in the league's official announcement. "We know Singaporeans love their football and that they are huge fans of the Barclays Premier League. Our aim is to put on a tournament worthy of the Singapore's 50th birthday celebrations and for that we have three teams who epitomise the best of our League."
The Barclays Asia Trophy dates back to 2003, with Chelsea, Newcastle and Birmingham City heading to Malaysia for the inaugural affair. Manchester City won the last edition in 2013, beating Sunderland 1-0 in the final.
Premier League clubs are always looking for ways to increase revenues and build brands in emerging markets. Heading to Singapore is a great way for Arsenal, Everton and Stoke to continue increasing their profile in Asia.
