Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria saw red on Monday evening after pulling the shirt of referee Michael Oliver to earn his second bookable offence of the night.

Per World Soccer Talk, the Argentinian had already been shown yellow for diving, but an inappropriate interaction with the official was enough to see his second in the space of a minute:

Rob Dawson of the Manchester Evening News labelled Di Maria's offence as "stupid," and one would be inclined to agree given how easily avoidable the action was:

Manchester United went on to lose the tie 2-1 thanks to goals from Nacho Monreal and Danny Welbeck, while Arsenal will move on to Wembley and face either Reading or Bradford City in their FA Cup semi-final.

Di Maria will now miss Saturday's match against Tottenham Hotspur as a result of his one-match suspension.
