Wednesday Recap

The top teams on the table all held serve on Wednesday, as Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool all came away with wins, while Tottenham recovered from their loss against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup with a victory over Swansea City.
West Ham gave the Blues all they could handle in a wild, exciting game that shockingly ended with only Eden Hazard scoring his 10th goal on the season early in the first half. The Blues couldn't gain any ground on the next four teams on the table, however.
Arsenal continued to lead the group of clubs battling for one of the last two top-four spots, as goals from Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez were enough to get them past Queens Park Rangers. Manchester United were lucky to get an Ashley Young goal in the 89th minute to help them get all three points, as Newcastle fumbled the ball about inside their own box, while Liverpool were never in too much trouble against Burnley, as Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge each found the netting.
The bizarre fall of Everton continued, however, as the Toffees dropped more points, this time losing 2-0 against Stoke. A year after having such an excellent season under Roberto Martinez, the Toffees have gone flat. A place in Europe is certainly out of the question, but not the team finds the relegation zone uncomfortably close.
Tuesday Recap

Aston Villa desperately need every single point they can get. On Tuesday, they got all three of them in wild fashion against West Brom.
With the score even at a goal apiece after Gabby Agbonlahor scored for Aston Villa in the 22nd minute before a Saido Berahino equalizer in the 66th minute, Aston Villa were pressing for the win in the waning moments when West Brom 'keeper Ben Foster fouled Matthew Lowton in the box in stoppage time, giving Villa a penalty.
Christian Benteke stepped up and came up huge, sending Foster the wrong way and burying a huge goal and securing a key three points for the club.
Former player and current pundit Gary Lineker noted just how important the moment was:
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace played excellently for 83 minutes and looked ready to secure a point against Southampton before 'keeper Julian Speroni spilled James Ward-Prowse's shot, allowing Sadio Mane to knock in the rebound and give the Saints a crucial three points.
The victory vaulted them back into fifth place, though Liverpool has a game in hand behind them and Tottenham has two.
And then there was the 1-1 draw between Hull City and Sunderland, with goals from Dame N'Doye in the 15th minute and a crucial equalizer from Sunderland's Jack Rodwell in the 77th minute.
The main story from the match were the fireworks between the managers, however, as Gus Poyet was sent off for kicking the water coolers on the sideline after disputing a call on the field. Before he exited the field, he had words for Hull's manager Steve Bruce, and both managers had to be restrained.
Afterwards Poyet spoke of the incident, via Tom Rostance of BBC Sport:
"In football things happen. I have to convince the officials not to put any buckets of drinks around me. I have no regrets whatsoever. If that is a bad image for football I am sorry but I don't think it's something to worry about.
I'm old fashioned. What happens on the pitch stays on the pitch.
"
Hopefully, Wednesday's seven games in the Premier League will have the same level of drama and fireworks that Tuesday's action featured. With the big clubs like Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham all in action, there could be a lot of moving and shaking on the table, namely in the battle for the top four.
At this point in the season, every point is vital.
