Sager, 63, will be returning for the first time since last April, when he was diagnosed with leukemia. The veteran broadcaster went into full remission late last year and has been preparing for his return to the sideline ever since. In November, Sager appeared on television for the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, and he made an appearance on Inside the NBA during All-Star Weekend.

“March 1…if everything goes well in the next two weeks,” Sager said then, per Jonathan Lehman of the New York Post. “I think I’m on my road back, and I’m looking forward to being back there healthy in March, April, looking forward to the playoffs.”

The network also aired a special profile on Sager in December, during which he discussed the cancer battle. The cancer went into remission after bone marrow and stem cells from Craig Jr. were pumped into Sager.

It goes without saying that Sager's return will be a welcomed addition to the broadcasts for the NBA's stretch run.
