Report: Clippers Shopping Crawford

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports released a wide-ranging report on Tuesday regarding the top NBA trade rumors. Crawford was among the marquee names involved, as the Clippers seek to upgrade their roster down the stretch of the 2014-15 season:
"[...] The Clippers have probed the market with Jamal Crawford to see if there's a way to acquire a first-round pick that could help them make a competitive offer to Denver for Wilson Chandler or Arron Afflalo, league sources said. The Clippers have also had a continuing interest with Phoenix's Gerald Green, sources said.
"
ESPN's Arash Markazi added that while a deal isn't imminent, Crawford is not untouchable prior to Thursday's deadline.
Seeing Crawford siphoned out of L.A. would be quite a shock, considering he's the Clippers' third-leading scorer with 16 points per contest. Coach Doc Rivers' squad lacks offensive firepower off the bench, so L.A. would need to bear that in mind if it sought help on the wing.
With regard to both Afflalo and Chandler, it's been reported that the Nuggets desire first-round picks in exchange for either of them, per Grantland's Zach Lowe.
Whether either player is an upgrade over Crawford is another matter. Perhaps L.A. is seeking to shore up defensively, as it ranks 19th in the Association with 104.4 points allowed per 100 possessions, per NBA.com.
Green makes sense in that he adds athleticism and adds a more proficient scoring punch than Afflalo and Chandler. However, toying with team chemistry amid such a tight Western Conference playoff race is tricky for any team involved to do.
The NBA trade deadline brings about all sorts of buzz, but Crawford's name popping up is a slight surprise given his vital role as sixth man.
