Premier League Player, Manager of the Month Nominees for January 2015 Revealed

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane leads the nominees for January's Premier League Player of the Month award, with Liverpool's Emre Can and Arsenal star Santi Cazorla also among those in the running. 

Barclays Football's Twitter account revealed the full list of candidates:

Kane scored five in four Premier League matches during January, per WhoScored. This included a terrific brace and assist in Spurs' 5-3 win over Chelsea.

He is joined by Can, who has emerged as a quality centre-back in Brendan Rodgers' 3-4-2-1 formation at Liverpool. Traditionally a versatile midfielder, the German's ball-playing skills continue to impress from deep. Southampton centre-back Jose Fonte—a stalwart throughout the campaign—is also included on the list.

Arsenal may be trailing behind Saints in the league, but the recent performances of Cazorla have forced many to take notice. He dictated play during the Gunners' 2-0 win over Manchester City, scoring two and assisting two throughout the month, per WhoScored.

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace's Dwight Gayle netted four in six matches to add his name to the list, while Chelsea favourite Oscar's three strikes and assist in five fixtures ensures the league leaders are represented.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is flanked by Brendan Rodgers, Ronald Koeman and Mark Hughes in the manager's shortlist, per Barclays Football:

January was certainly a memorable month in the Premier League, defined by an increasingly interesting battle for fourth.

This is represented in both sets of nominees, with plenty of candidates for the Champions League places making themselves known.
