James Harden Scores 40 Points vs. Suns: Highlights and Twitter Reaction

Timothy RappFeb 10, 2015

James Harden is taking over the NBA.

The Houston Rockets superstar put on another show on Tuesday night, exploding for 40 points and leading the Rockets to a 127-118 win over the Phoenix Suns. He nearly had himself a triple-double, finishing just shy after pulling down 12 rebounds and dishing nine assists.

The team's Twitter account had more on his huge performance:

ESPN Stats & Info put his recent performances in perspective:

Ah, but we're not done singing the praises of Harden, folks. Consider the following, from NBA writer Chris Palmer:

But if pictures are worth a thousand words, well, videos are worth that many tweets, so let's not only rely on words to paint the picture of Harden's brilliance. The NBA on Twitter passed along one of his highlights from the evening:

After the game, Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek had kind words for Harden, noting, "He draws everybody and passes it at the right time," per Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

And that's just another reason why everyone in the NBA fears him, as ESPN.com's J.A. Adande tweeted:

It's true. Harden is taking over the NBA and dragging the Rockets along with him for the ride. If he keeps up this level of play, the Rockets are going to be a very tough out come the postseason.

And Harden could claim this year's Most Valuable Player award. To this point, it's hard to argue he's undeserving of such an honor.
