Best Twitter Reaction to Liverpool vs. Tottenham Hotspur
On Tuesday, Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 at Anfield in a hugely entertaining Premier League match. The best of the Twitter reaction included Harry Kane likened to a wizard, while Mario Balotelli proved he was better than both Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney.
Don't believe us? Read on.
It took only 15 minutes before the opening goal, as Lazar Markovic put the hosts in front. Then, just 11 minutes later, Spurs found their equaliser through none other than Kane.

Following the restart, Liverpool caught a lucky break when they were awarded a penalty in the 54th minute. Up stepped Steven Gerrard, and he made no mistake to make it 2-1. But their lead was short-lived once again, as Moussa Dembele scored a mere 10 minutes later to level it up.
A late goal from Balotelli nine minutes after being introduced as a substitute, however, meant that Brendan Rodgers' men took home all three points.
Having not lost a league clash since their 3-0 capitulation against Manchester United, Liverpool are currently on a nine-match unbeaten streak. Perhaps most important of all, though, was the fact that they were able to stop the Lilywhites from relying on their biggest strength—late goals.
In particular, Emre Can, who's been a revelation this season, was instrumental in shutting down quite a number of Spurs attacks with some fine interceptions and no-nonsense clearances.
Indeed, despite displaying tremendous fight and spirit, Spurs just couldn't find the all-important equaliser at the death. And they were really made to pay for both not playing to their strengths as well as allowing their weaknesses to dictate the flow of the game.

Fighting an uphill battle, the north London club struggled to deal with Liverpool's new boy, Jordon Ibe, a player who had a real impact on the outcome of the match, as it was his pass that set up Adam Lallana to assist Balotelli's match-winner.
And Spurs legend Ossie Ardiles was quick to pinpoint Ibe as a potential threat early on in the tie:
Off the pitch, too, Ibe was causing a storm, as Colin Udoh took tremendous pleasure in pointing out that commentators were continuing to get the pronunciation of his name wrong:
Back on the field of play, although the match was billed as a battle between Daniel Sturridge and Kane prior to kick-off, it proved to be a lot more inclusive than that. Mind you, when Kane hammered home his goal midway through the first half, he nearly broke the Internet.
And he sent Spurs supporters into a frenzy by confirming his talent as a goalscorer yet again with his 23rd goal of the season in all competitions.

But he wasn't to have it all his own way, as Super Mario stole the show with his first Premier League goal of the season.
In fact, it was the former Manchester City player who replaced Sturridge in the second half—an act that highlighted just how full of confidence Rodgers has become. The Reds boss took a huge gamble in throwing the Italian international into the action, but it really paid off for them in the end.
And there was no shortage of reaction from the Internet, which delighted in unison at seeing the recalcitrant front man hitting the back of the net, including ex-Leicester City striker Gary Linker:
In truth, Spurs probably should have earned at least a point. Their conviction and hard work meant they certainly deserved something. But poor decisions from the dugout inevitably cost them.
Choosing to take Christian Eriksen off while introducing Roberto Soldado meant that they statistically reduced their chances of scoring a late goal, as clearly outlined by the Liverpool Echo's' Andy Kelly.
Liverpool's battling win means their hopes of getting into the Champions League places remain very much alive.
And based on Tuesday's display, the Reds are not about to let them die any time soon.
As for Spurs, they too are still on course for a top-four finish, but it will be interesting to see how this loss affects them as they prepare for a clash against West Ham United on Feb. 22.
