Diarra Training with West Ham United, Close to Short-term Deal
Tuesday, Feb. 10
Diarra is currently training with east London side West Ham United. But that could soon change into a more permanent arrangement, according to Sky Sports News HQ:
It certainly makes sense for the Hammers not only to pursue Diarra but also to proceed cautiously about the type of deal they offer him. Manager Sam Allardyce saw current midfield terrier Alex Song have ice packs strapped to both knees, following the recent 1-1 home draw with Manchester United, per Mail Online reporter Sam Cunningham.
It would be a smart move to get some quality cover for Song. Diarra fits the bill, even though he's had trouble staying put throughout his career.

At his best, though, the tough-tackling, powerful Frenchman is a similarly destructive workhorse to Song. But Diarra's talent has often been overshadowed by his wanderlust.
He refused to bide his time at both Chelsea and Arsenal before helping Portsmouth win the FA Cup in 2008. After his stint in Madrid came to a close, Diarra went to Russia to join Anzhi Makhachkala.
He was last seen plying his trade for Lokomotiv Moscow in mid-2014. He's been a free agent since.
