Chandler Suffers Ankle Injury

Monday, Feb. 9

He suffered the injury in the first quarter and was quickly ruled doubtful to return, per ESPN Dallas' Tim MacMahon:

After the game, MacMahon reported that teammate Dirk Nowitzki didn't expect Chandler to play on Wednesday against the Utah Jazz.

Chandler's importance to this team can't be overstated. While he's efficient around the rim, his rebounding and interior defense make him especially valuable.

A serious injury was the fear when the Mavs traded Brandan Wright in December. A solid rebounder and rim protector, Wright served as insurance for the 7'1" Chandler, who has missed 43 games in the last two seasons due to various injuries.
