Michal Menet to Penn State: Nittany Lions Land 4-Star OT Prospect

Penn State just pulled off a major coup in its 2016 recruiting, as it managed to nab one of the top offensive line prospects in the country, Michal Menet, per Donnie Collins of the Scranton Times-Tribune.

Menet, a 6'5" and 271-pound offensive tackle from Exeter Township Senior High School in Reading, Pennsylvania, is considered to be the No. 37 recruit in the 2016 class, the No. 6 offensive tackle and the top player from his state, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.

He comes highly rated by those in the know around the country.

"He's one of the top players in the country at his position," Mike Farrell of Rivals.com told Rich Scarcella of the Reading Eagle. "He's an elite talent. He's extremely athletic and aggressive."

One other adjective you can add? 

Motivated.

"I definitely think [being the state's top-ranked player] is cool," Menet told Dustin Hockensmith of PennLive.com in January. "I think it's an awesome achievement, but I'm very aware that to stay the best, you have to work even harder because there's always people trying to get there. It's just made me work even harder, if anything."

Menet will have to bulk up a bit at the next level, of course, as he'll have a hard time standing up against the top defensive ends in the country at 265 pounds. Like most young tackles, he'll need to fine-tune some of his techniques and skills.

Still, the sky appears to be the ceiling for Menet, and being considered the top recruit in the passionate football state of Pennsylvania is no small achievement. Menet has a chance to be a special player at the next level.

The Nittany Lions are banking on it.
