Kane the Enabler for Spurs

Harry Kane's terrific goalscoring form is one of the storylines of the season so far. The Englishman isn't just a clinical finisher, however. His tireless play has the ability to raise Tottenham's tempo, creating larger gaps for Christian Eriksen to pass into and indeed stretch Arsenal's defence.
Kane was the catalyst behind Spurs' memorable 5-3 win over Chelsea on New Year's Day. He ran Gary Cahill ragged by getting the ball out of his feet and opting to directly approach his nearest marker in one-on-one situations. Cahill is yet to recover, hence Jose Mourinho's decision to bench him for 20-year-old Kurt Zouma.
It would be wise for Kane to isolate Per Mertesacker in a similar fashion. The German is slow on the turn and isn't the greatest sprinter, meaning Kane can leave him trailing without a second thought. Laurent Koscielny will need to cover when the striker rattles through the gears, meaning Eriksen, Nacer Chadli and Andros Townsend (or perhaps Erik Lamela) must be ready to bolt into the gaps he leaves behind.
Kane's outright goalscoring ability isn't to be messed with this season, noted by Sky Sports:
He is the type of player who will lift the White Hart Lane crowd, making Arsenal's task extremely difficult. Expect plenty of opportunities, individual battles, and goals from both sides.
Everton Must Plug the Gaps

Liverpool's resurgent form has seen Brendan Rodgers' side lose just one of their last 19 matches in 90 minutes, per Soccerway.
The switch to a transitional 3-4-2-1 has allowed the squad's fast-paced attacking threat to shine through, providing potential match-winners such as Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho the opportunity to find their form.
Everton need an old-school, David Moyes-era performance to shut their local rivals out. Roberto Martinez's men were widely praised for playing ambitious, expansive football last season, but a drop in form has seen this style exploited in his second campaign.
The 12th-placed Blues are only seven points away from the relegation zone and must plug the gaps to stop Liverpool from running riot. Defensive midfielders Gareth Barry and Muhamed Besic are likely to be key because they operate in the area of the field in which Coutinho dictates.

The little Brazilian is dangerous when given time to skate forward, look up and find a pass. This is particularly true now he has Sterling bursting beyond the last defender and on to through balls. With Daniel Sturridge back and among the goals, it's even more vital Everton work doggedly to halt a side who naturally spring forward as one.
Sterling and Rodgers paid tribute to Coutinho after he netted a stunning winner in the FA Cup tie against Bolton on Wednesday. Liverpool's official Twitter feed and Squawka reported the quotes:
Martinez has been known to push Romelu Lukaku wide in important matches, but he needs to remain central for the derby. Emre Can has proven himself useful as a ball-playing centre-back, despite a couple of mistakes in the defensive three. Lukaku's physicality and pace can put the youngster under considerable pressure or, alternatively, split Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho on the other side.
Such contests are part of a mouthwatering weekend for Premier League enthusiasts. As always, we can look forward to plenty of drama, memorable moments and perhaps upsets.
