Durant Suffers Toe Injury

Monday, Jan. 26

Kevin Durant's 2014-15 season continues to be marred by injuries.

ESPN's Royce Young has details of his newest affliction, a toe injury that will keep him out of Monday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves:

Durant missed just 16 total games in his first seven seasons, leading the league in minutes in 2009-10, 2011-12 and 2013-14. He surpassed that total before December, though, sitting out the first 17 games of the year with a Jones fracture in his foot. Less than a month after his return, he then suffered a mild sprained ankle that kept him sidelined for another six games.

Fortunately for the Thunder, it doesn't sound like this injury is nearly as serious as the previous two.

Oklahoma City, which was decimated by injuries earlier this season and still managed to tread water, turned to Russell Westbrook to carry the load, while players like Anthony Morrow, Dion Waiters and Perry Jones were asked to step up in Durant's absence.
