LeBron James Will Co-Produce a Game Show Featuring 'Life-Changing' Cash Prizes
LeBron James is preparing to hand out cash to the people of Ohio, but first, youโll have to tell him the capital of Papua New Guinea.
Cleveland.comโs Joe Vardon reports that Spring Hill Productions, the Cleveland Cavaliers starโs production company, is working to put together a prime-time game show offering โeveryday peopleโ a chance to win enough money to change their lives forever.ย
According to Vardon, the game show will air on a major network in a prime slot of evening airtime. Which network, exactly, has yet to be decided, but itโs reported that the show will feature a mix of trivia and luck components. Most interestingly, James says the programโs first contestants will be pulled from his hometown of Akron, Ohio, and the surrounding area.

โIt gives people here an opportunity to live out a dream, things they only dream about, to make more money than they ever thought they could make in their lives,โ James told Vardon.
โI thought starting here with the people I love here, means a lot to them. Me being a part of the game show is all part of my team doing things that [are] outside the box, but also thatโs fun and families and people of any age can gravitate to.โย
In case this is beginning to sound like a wildly roundabout way of James funneling money to his friends from back home, Vardon assures us none of Jamesโ friends, family or business acquaintances can participate in the show.
โFriends of James, Spring Hill, or Jamesโ charitable foundation are not eligible for the show,โ Vardon writes.
As for the C.R.E.A.M., exactly how much money will be at stake for Jamesโ show has yet to be revealed. Vardonโs sources have only intimated that the program will offer โthe highest nightly stakes of any game show.โย
With that information, one could surmise the nightly grand prize could rest somewhere north of $2.2 million, as the previous highest single game-show winner was Kevin Olmstead, who wonย $2.18 million on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in 2001.
In any case, if you win Jamesโ (yet to be named) show, you will soon be swimming through gold bullion in an aggressively striped leotard.

Just remember, future game-show winners: Use your money to give back to the communityโnamely Akronโs local zebra retailers, water ski dealers and hard-carved bidet masons.
