Radamel Falcao Rumours: Latest News, Speculation on Manchester United Star

Tim DanielsJan 13, 2015

Manchester United were hoping the arrival of Radamel Falcao would help give the club the Premier League's most dangerous attack. Instead, he's struggled to find top form without a consistent role, which leaves his future up in the air.

FourFourTwo passed along comments from the striker's agent, Jorge Mendes. He admitted the outlook is uncertain once the loan spell comes to an end after the campaign. But he has no doubt other big-name clubs would be interested if United decides to move on:

"

I don't know [where Falcao's future lies]. He is a fantastic player, and I think it's very difficult for Manchester United fans.

They have an absolutely brilliant player, one of the very best in the world, who would without any doubt play 90 minutes of the match, every time, with any other club.

The truth is, right now we don't know what will happen. What we do know is that he will play in one of the very best clubs in the world next season, whether that is Manchester United or not.

Falcao was an attacking force during stops with Porto and Atletico Madrid. Across four seasons with those two clubs he combined to score 142 goals in 178 matches. It made him a coveted commodity before he agreed to join Monaco.

He made just 22 appearances for the Ligue 1 side before heading to Old Trafford. He's tallied just three goals and three assists in 12 EPL games (seven starts) during the United loan stay.

There have been times when he's looked like the marquee addition he was billed as, but it hasn't occurred on a consistent basis. That's the main reason he's been unable to lock down a starting role for Louis van Gaal, who's frequently juggled his lineup looking for the right combination.

Falcao's status should become more clear as the campaign wears on. There's still a chance he can elevate his form and become a regular for United.
