10 Best Golazos from World Football This Weekend

Ryan BaileyJan 11, 2015

There was plenty of spectacle on offer in the beautiful game over the weekend, with Roberto Mancini getting slammed in the face by one of his own players, Francesco Totti taking a post-goal selfie and Dusan Tadic bagging a dramatic winner at Old Trafford after initially leaving his short and shin pads in the dressing room.

There were also plenty of stunning goals scored, with this week's golazo ranking featuring efforts from Spain, England, France, Italy, the 2015 Asian Cup and the 2015 CONCACAF U20 Championships...

10. Francesco Totti (Roma) vs. Lazio

1 of 10

The Stadio Olimpico hosted a heated Derby Della Capitale on Sunday, in which Francesco Totti earned Roma a 2-2 draw with city rivals Lazio with a vital brace.

The legendary 38-year-old captain's second was a brilliant diving volley from a Jose Holebas cross.

The goal was almost as impressive as the celebration, which saw Totti pull out a smartphone and take a selfie in front of the Giallorossi faithful.

9. Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) vs. Espanyol

2 of 10

After three consecutive—and very surprising—losses, Real Madrid returned to their winning ways on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Espanyol at the Bernabeu.

Gareth Bale scored the second in the 28th minute with a wonderful free-kick that made its way in via the post.

It wasn't all smiles for the Welshman, however, who was booed by the home crowd for failing to pass to Cristiano Ronaldo, provoking the Portuguese star's ire for the second consecutive game

8. Danny Ings (Burnley) vs. QPR

3 of 10

Queens Park Rangers became the first Premier League team to lose their first 10 away games with a 2-1 defeat at Burnley on Saturday.

The Hoops—who haven't won away from home since May—were sunk by an excellent 37th-minute winner from Danny Ings.

The 22-year-old brought down a lofted Ashley Barnes through-ball, danced past Steven Caulker and Richard Dunne and then carefully slotted a left-footed strike past Rob Green.

7. Scott Arfield (Burnley) vs. QPR

4 of 10

Ings' goal was impressive, but it was not as good as Scott Arfield's opener in the 12th minute. The Scottish midfielder managed to nutmeg two QPR players before curling a wonderful shot past Green.

It was Arfield's second goal of the season, helping the Clarets to move clear of the relegation zone, while leaving their visitors firmly in it.

6. Andy Carroll (West Ham) vs. Swansea

5 of 10

West Ham earned a 1-1 draw at Swansea, thanks to a stunning opener from Andy Carroll.

Two minutes before the half, the Geordie striker used his strength to meet a Stewart Downing cross with his chest and proceeded to bamboozle the defence and create space for himself before launching his shot.

This was Carroll's fourth goal this season and his third against Swansea.

5. Julian Palmieri (Bastia) vs. Paris Saint-Germain

6 of 10

Paris Saint-Germain blew a two-goal lead and the chance to return to the top of Ligue 1 on Saturday when they crashed to a 4-2 defeat at struggling Bastia.

The home side pulled level just before half-time but took the lead in the 56th minute through Julian Palmieri, who hit a sublime first-time volley.

4. Joel Lynch (Huddersfield) vs. Watford

Huddersfield pulled off a surprising 3-1 win over promotion-chasing Watford in the Championship on Sunday. The Terriers' finest effort was their last in the 83rd minute, a brilliant overhead kick from Joel Lynch. It was not a bad finish for a defender.

3. Joaquin (Fiorentina) vs. Palermo

8 of 10

Fiorentina were victors in a seven-goal thriller against Palermo on Sunday, earning a 4-3 victory, thanks in part to a stunning strike from Joaquin.

In the 74th minute, the Spanish midfielder bagged the Viola's fourth with a wonderful curling right-footed shot.

2. Ehsan Hajsafi (Iran) vs. Bahrain

9 of 10

The 2015 Asian Cup got underway over the weekend, with Iran earning a 2-0 win over Bahrain on Sunday.

The Iranian's first goal was a stunner from 24-year-old utility player Ehsan Hajsafi. Deep in first-half injury time, the Sepahan star received the ball on the edge of the box and teed himself up for an excellent half-volley.

1. Andy Ruiz (Guatemala U20) vs. USA U20

The 2015 CONCACAF U20 Championships kicked off in Jamaica on Friday, with the United States facing Guatemala in Kingston.

The Americans took the lead just before the hour-mark and looked set to secure three points. However, in the final minute, Andy Ruiz met a clearance from a corner with an unstoppable volley into the back of the net.

A very special way to win a point for the Guatemalans.
