Irving to Play Tonight vs. Celtics

Tuesday, March 3

Irving will be back in action tonight against the Celtics after missing the last two games, per Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio.

Irving Misses Multiple Games

Saturday, Feb. 28

The Cavaliers announced Irving will miss Sunday's game against the Rockets after failing to play on Feb. 27 against the Pacers.

Irving's statistics have remained at an All-Star level despite the arrival of both LeBron James and Kevin Love. The Big Three didn't mesh well at first, but it has been a different story since mid-January.

The marriage between Irving, James and Love has developed into a fantastic one, which is why there is likely plenty of concern among Cavs fans relating to Irving's condition.

This isn't the first time Irving has been on the shelf this season, so Cleveland already has some experience as it relates to playing without him.

He suffered a knee injury against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Dec. 11, although he downplayed the issue at first, per CNN's Rachel Nichols:

Even so, Irving's knee continued to bother him and forced him to sit out a pair of games later in the month.

Shortly after returning to action, though, Irving went down once again with a back issue. He originally injured it Jan. 2 against the Charlotte Hornets, and although he tried to play through it in the Cavs' next game, he was eventually forced to rest up once again.

According to Skolnick, the back injury really took its toll on Irving:

Irving was eventually able to work his way back into the lineup and manage the pain, but it was certainly a struggle at times. He has been no stranger to adversity this season, and now he is facing even more.
