Anthony Reveillere Injury: Updates on Sunderland Star's Calf and Return

Reveillere Remains Unfit to Play

Reveillere was unable to play today against Liverpool. He also missed the club's matches against Manchester City on Jan. 1 and Leeds on Jan. 4.

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet discussed Anthony Reveillere's injury on Tuesday, according to Paul Fraser of The Northern Echo:

"

Anthony is lucky that it is not as bad as we thought as we thought it was a massive tear. We were really worried and we felt it would be really bad. It is just a tear. It will be normally between three and four weeks. It’s not that bad.

"

Sunderland received a bit of bad news ahead of their match against Newcastle, as left-back Anthony Reveillere was unable to play due to an injury.  

Sunderland's official Twitter account announced the news:

Reveillere has made seven Premier League appearances for Sunderland this season, earning a 6.88 average match rating from WhoScored.com. For a club already near the bottom of the table and fighting off relegation, every injury is particularly impactful.
