2015 College Football Recruits Most Likely to Commit During Bowl Season

Sanjay KirpalaniDec 11, 2014

With bowl season upon us, and a recruiting dead period slated to take effect on December 22, most schools across the country will take a break from the recruiting trail in an effort to focus on bowl preparations.

However, there is a handful of recruits who are candidates to make a decision in the period between now and when bowl season ends.

A few candidates are early enrollees, while others are simply close to ending the process.

Which recruits are most likely to make a pledge during bowl season?

*All players are listed in alphabetical order.

Jalin Barnett

1 of 5

When it comes to physically imposing prospects in the 2015 cycle, 4-star offensive lineman Jalin Barnett's name is among those that belong at the top of that list.

The 6’4”, 315-pounder—who ranks as the No. 4 guard prospect and No. 60 recruit overall in the 2015 class—appears to be down to Oklahoma and Arkansas.

He’s visited both schools multiple times and, according to Dalton Person of Hawgs247 (subscription required), Barnett’s decision could be made before the end of the month.

Whichever school lands Barnett will be getting a potential road-grading lineman with huge upside at the next level.

Daniel Imatorbhebhe

2 of 5

According to GatorBait’s Luke Stampini (subscription required), California and Florida are the final two choices for 3-star tight end Daniel Imatorbhebhe.

The 6'4", 227-pounder’s decision is imminent, considering that he will enroll at either Berkeley or Gainesville in January.

Locking up Imatorbhebhe could also come with a bonus. His brother, Josh, is a 4-star receiver in the 2016 class.

The one-time Missouri pledge is an intriguing option with tremendous upside heading into the college level.

Trent Irwin

3 of 5

The race to land 4-star receiver Trent Irwin is nearing a close.

According to JC Shurburtt of 247Sports, it will be a Pac-12 battle between Arizona State, Oregon State, Stanford and UCLA to land the nation’s No. 8 receiver.

Shurburtt notes that Irwin plans to decide sometime in December, with Arizona State and Stanford believed to be the two favorites.

Whoever lands the 6’2”, 190-pounder, who has enjoyed a monstrous senior season, will get one of the nation’s most explosive playmakers.

Da'Vante Phillips

4 of 5

While 4-star receiver Da’Vante Phillips has offers from a number of top programs, it’s been widely assumed that his eventual landing spot will be at Florida State.

The 6’2”, 204-pounder is close to current Seminoles stud-freshman running back Dalvin Cook, who was his prep teammate at Central High School in Miami last season.

His Crystal Ball page currently lists Jimbo Fisher and the ‘Noles as the unanimous favorite.

With Phillips being an early enrollee, his decision could come down at any time.

Tim Settle

5 of 5

Perhaps one of the deepest positions in the 2015 class is at defensive tackle.

One talented run-plugger whose recruitment will end soon is 4-star Virginia standout Tim Settle.

According to Ryan Bartow of 247Sports, Settle is expected to announce his commitment on December 20.

Settle has taken official visits to schools such as Virginia Tech, Louisville, Washington State and USC. Clemson, West Virginia, Florida State and Penn State are other schools that could possibly be in contention for the 6’3”, 300-pounder.
