Philippines vs. Indonesia: Score and Report from AFF Cup Group A Match
Philippines sealed their spot in the semi-finals of this year's AFF Cup after recording a 4-0 upset win over Indonesia on Tuesday to keep up their winning run at the competition.
As Reddit Soccer points out, the result was a rare one for Philippines, who last beat their Asian foes in 1934, giving their most recent triumph even more significance:
"Philippine NT finally beats Indonesia after 80 years, 4-0! http://t.co/P6irRBM7z0

Misagh Bahadoran was tugged down inside the box during the fixture's opening stages as Indonesia gifted Phil Younghusband the chance to convert from 12 yards.
Philippines then had to wait until the second half before Manuel Ott claimed their second, but from there, the floodgates opened. Martin Steuble and Rob Gier netted in the 68th and 79th minutes, respectively, to round off an extremely promising display from the Azkals.

The team has now reached the last four of the tournament for the last three years in succession, but this time, they will look to do one better and play a part in their first AFF Cup final.
Former United States assistant coach Thomas Dooley took over at the Philippines helm this year and has shown dramatic signs of improvement since taking the post.
Speaking after Tuesday's win, Dooley said the following:
"I am obviously very happy that we have reached the semi-finals (after just) the second game as we didn’t expect that when we came over here. An excellent (team) performance, you cannot play better in the situation we were in and that’s why I am proud of everyone.
I think we controlled the game from the very beginning. We had even more chances to score a goal, but I am happy with four-nothing.
"
This 4-0 triumph comes just three days after the Azkals put another four past Laos en route to a 4-1 victory, showing depth in both attack and defence.
Filipino club Global FC currently boast seven international players taking part at the AFF Cup, and their official Twitter account broke down some of the players' performances against Indonesia by the numbers:
Philippines can now head into their third and final Group A fixture against Vietnam with calm minds, although they'll still be looking to ensure they go into the semi-final with an unblemished record.
Titleholders Singapore have already stumbled in the competition's opening phases, succumbing to 2012 finalists Thailand 2-1, and Philippines now have a real opportunity to make their presence felt on this stage like never before.
