UK Back Pages: Louis Van Gaal Slams Welbeck, Sterling Pledges to Stay with Reds

Arsenal and Manchester United again take centre-stage for the Premier League's Saturday-night clash and unsurprisingly it's a United-turned-Arsenal man in the middle of everything. 

Before the transfer window closed, Manchester United sold youth product Danny Welbeck to rivals, Arsenal, and Welbeck gets his first shot against his former side at the Emirates. 

The man who sold him, Louis van Gaal, fired a few shots in Welbeck's direction and insisted that he simply didn't have enough quality to play for United. 

Vincent Tan's comments on Dave Whelan and Malky Mackay and Lewis Hamilton's battle with Nico Rosberg also take up a few inches in Saturday's papers. 

In The Daily Telegraph, Louis van Gaal simply infers that Welbeck is nothing more than a sub.

Van Gaal says that he, David Moyes and Sir Alex Ferguson all rated Welbeck poorly. Raheem Sterling also claims that he's going to make a career out of playing at Liverpool.
