UK Back Pages: Dave Whelan Slammed for Remarks, Daniel Sturridge's Injury Misery
A day after Wigan were in the crosshairs for their appointment of controversial and still-under-investigation Malky Mackay, chairman Dave Whelan fell under further fire after a series of unsavoury quotes came out.ย
He was accused of antisemitism after he was quoted in The Guardian as saying, "Jewish people chase money more than everybody else."
For his words, he was hammered in Friday's back pages as a result.ย
The Daily Telegraphย simply called his actions "shameful."ย

The Sun called the debacle a "race storm." They also report that Daniel Sturridge has injured the same thigh eight times and that Louis van Gaal is now pleading that Wayne Rooney matches his scoring output with England for Manchester United.ย
