
UK Back Pages: Dave Whelan Slammed for Remarks, Daniel Sturridge's Injury Misery
A day after Wigan were in the crosshairs for their appointment of controversial and still-under-investigation Malky Mackay, chairman Dave Whelan fell under further fire after a series of unsavoury quotes came out.
He was accused of antisemitism after he was quoted in The Guardian as saying, "Jewish people chase money more than everybody else."
For his words, he was hammered in Friday's back pages as a result.
