Miranda Speaks on Injury
Spanish newspaper AS has an update on Miranda's status from the centre-back himself:
"Joao Miranda has confirmed that he will not play for Atlético against Málaga at the Vicente Calderón on Saturday (16:00 CET). The Brazilian centre-back went to the FREMAP Clinic at about 15:30 this afternoon and one hour after leaving the medical centre at Majadahonda, where he underwent tests to confirm the extent of the injury he suffered in a friendly in Viena against Austria. “On Saturday I will not play”, said the Atleti defender.
According to the doctor, a report on the club’s official website soon after Tuesday night’s match said the player suffered the injury after 28 minutes of the match. Miranda “suffered an acute muscle injury to the hamstring muscles of the left back thigh”. It is now confirmed the defender suffered a grade II hamstring injury, meaning he will be sidelined for at least two weeks.

Miranda Injures Hamstring
Atletico Madrid star centre-back Miranda was forced to leave the pitch in Brazil's friendly against Austria within the opening 30 minutes due to an apparent hamstring injury, leaving his status for Saturday's La Liga fixture against Malaga in doubt.
AS English confirmed the news:
The 30-year-old was replaced with Paris Saint-Germain's Thiago Silva, who has struggled with his own fair share of injuries this season, via The Guardian's Fernando Duarte:
Miranda already has an astonishing three goals in 10 La Liga outings, via WhoScored.com, and the athletic defender forms one of the best central pairings along with Uruguay's Diego Godin.
Diego Simeone relies on Miranda to organise his back four, so if the Brazilian misses a significant amount of time with this hamstring injury, the Atleti will have to re-work the entire defensive strategy that won them last year's La Liga title.
