Arjen Robben Illness: Updates on Bayern Munich Star's Status and Return

Gianni VerschuerenNov 5, 2014

Dutch star forward Arjen Robben won't be playing in Bayern Munich's Champions League clash against AS Roma on Wednesday, as the club confirmed he is suffering from a stomach bug.

The Bavarians confirmed the news on Twitter, adding the 30-year-old felt so bad he didn't even leave the hotel to support his team-mates at the stadium:

Bayern later named its starting lineup without Robben:

Former football star Jan Aage Fjortoft thinks the Giallorossi in particular will be happy to hear they won't be facing the Dutchman:

Robben had two goals and an assist in Week 3, when Bayern thrashed the Italians, 7-1, so his contributions will surely be missed on Wednesday.
