Female Presenter Almost Lost Job as Her Looks Distracted Players

Football presenter Katarina Sreckovic has admitted she almost had to give up her dream job of reporting on Red Star Belgrade as the team's players found her looks such a distraction. 

Sreckovic presents a show about the Serbian giants and is a massive fan of the club she now covers. 

However, in the early stages of her career, the 25-year-old said her looks got in the way of her journalism.

 She's quoted in the Daily Mirror as saying:

I admit it was a problem at the start but I think they've got used to me now.

It was tough though because for a while it seemed as if they might not be able to work with me at all.

I was also asked to go away a couple of times because I was a distraction on the pitch, and players complained that they couldn't concentrate.

Sreckovic is a graduate in Chinese and literature, and while she dated a junior Red Star player in the past, she now has a boyfriend away from football.

Red Star have won 26 championships across the Yugoslavia and Serbian leagues and won the European Cup in 1991. That was the last time the tournament, now known as the Champions League, was played without a group stage.
