Mathieu Suffers Calf Injury
Barcelona's surprising 1-0 loss to Celta Vigo on Saturday evening was bad enough news for the club. But to add injury to insult, the club lost defender Jeremy Mathieu due to an injury.
The Barca website has more on the knock:
"Jeremy Mathieu will miss the next few FC Barcelona games after picking up a soleus injury in his right calf, which will see him side-lined for two or three weeks. After starting last night against Celta, the defender is definitely out of the trips to Ajax and Almeria this week, and this probably means he will not be taking any part in the internationals for France the week after.
"
It's a big blow for the Catalan club. Mathieu has started nine games for Barcelona in La Liga play, earning a 7.38 average match rating from WhoScored.com for his efforts.
