
Maple Leafs vs. Senators Postponed Following Shootings in Ottawa
On the heels of multiple shooting incidents Wednesday in Canada's capital of Ottawa, the scheduled game between the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs at the Canadian Tire Centre has been postponed.
The game has since been rescheduled for November 9, via James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail:

Draft Lottery Winners and Losers
Ashley Fantz and Josh Levs of CNN.com are reporting that there could be multiple shooters in three incidents at the capital, one of which left a soldier dead.
Ottawa police have issued a statement regarding the ongoing investigation into the shootings, per Steve Ladurantaye of Twitter Canada:

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police has also since posted a tweet warning those in the area to take safety precautions:
According to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun, Senators team owner Eugene Melnyk released a statement in the aftermath of the postponement:
The Maple Leafs organization also provided a statement in support of those impacted by the shootings, per David Alter of MapleLeafs.com:

With so much uncertainty regarding the level of safety in Ottawa currently, Bruce Arthur of the Toronto Star is among those who agree with the NHL's decision to postpone the game:
Some situations simply must take precedence over an NHL game. Senators superstar defenseman Erik Karlsson is cognizant of that, as evidenced by his tweet regarding the situation:
There will be plenty more opportunities for the Sens and Leafs to meet on the ice this season, and the NHL shouldn't be blamed for doing everything possible to protect its players and fans.
