Ben Roethlisberger, Heath Miller's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 7
Ben Roethlisberger continues to show he is capable of having a big fantasy performance if given the chance.
While the Pittsburgh Steelers still like to utilize the run behind Le'Veon Bell, the veteran quarterback was given the green light early and often against the Houston Texans in Week 7. Here is a look at his numbers from the win:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Roethlisberger spread the ball around to a number of different targets, and he threw for over 250 yards for the fourth time in seven games. He has reached double-digit fantasy points in all but one game this year, and he has become a relatively safe option for those who need a quarterback.
Unfortunately, he lacks the upside of other top fantasy options at the position. The Steelers offense has struggled for most of the season and was only able to add 14 points before the end of the first half thanks to two Texans turnovers inside their own 10-yard line.
Meanwhile, Roethlisberger has had a serious problem with turnovers this season, losing a fumble or throwing an interception in six out of seven games this year. Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network joked that the latest one was not a surprise:
A quarterback who cannot hold onto the ball on a team that does not score too many touchdowns is hard to rely upon on a weekly basis. He can be placed in a lineup for a week or two with a favorable matchup, but you do not want him as your regular QB1.
This is more than you can say about Heath Miller, who had another disappointing performance against the Texans:

The 31-year-old tight end had one strong performance in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, totaling 10 catches for 85 yards and a touchdown. However, he has not topped 51 yards in any other game while also failing to get into the end zone.
Miller was barely a factor in the passing game in Week 7, while Antonio Brown had another strong effort and Bell has apparently become Roethlisberger's safety net on checkdowns. It seems Miller is no longer needed as a receiving target, and this is unlikely to change going forward.
Roethlisberger deserves a spot on most fantasy rosters, but feel free to drop Miller if you need the roster spot.
