Giants vs. Cowboys: Score and Twitter Reaction from 2014 Regular Season
The oftentimes unpredictable nature of divisional play wasn't enough to slow down the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday against the New York Giants.
Jason Garrett's squad once again put forth a dominant, balanced effort on the offensive side of the ball to hold off the New York Giants, 31-21, for its sixth win in a row.

It was a comprehensive performance from the 'Boys, who finished with 423 total yards. Tony Romo completed 17 of 23 throws for 279 yards and three scores to go with one interception. Dez Bryant pulled down nine catches for 151 yards. Tight end Gavin Escobar found the end zone twice.
And, as has become custom in the 2014 season, DeMarco Murray surpassed the century mark on the ground (128 yards) to go with a touchdown. He set a new NFL record in the process, per ESPN's Tim MacMahon:
Garrett was quick to point out that Murray's efforts are the product of the team as a whole after the big win.
“He’s off to a good start,” Garrett said, per Clarence E. Hill of the Star-Telegram. “It’s a team thing. Teams are coming in here trying to stop the run. It’s starts with the offensive line, the tight ends are blocking the backs are blocking."
Eli Manning (248 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions) played well in the loss, but a pair of fumbles from Larry Donnell and an inability to get late stops on defense dropped the Giants to 3-4.
Fresh off a huge win in Seattle, the Cowboys showed zero signs of a letdown. They came out of the gate with their newfound recipe for success, as they leaned on Murray and the running game for two clock-eating drives in the first half. Romo capped off both with touchdown throws: one to a wide-open Escobar and another to Terrance Williams, who has made the end zone his second home this season.
ESPN's Ed Werder put it simply:
Despite being outgained, though, New York was able to keep pace thanks to a single turnover.
Prince Amukamara picked off a long throw from Romo after Bryant fell down and returned it 38 yards to set up a 27-yard touchdown throw from Eli Manning to Daniel Fells.
It was the second scoring toss of the day for Manning, who had connected with Odell Beckham Jr. on the previous drive. As MacMahon alluded to, it was an impressive route from the rookie:
The teams entered the locker room tied at 14, but the Cowboys' advantage in the time-of-possession battle began to wear down the G-Men.
Dallas put together a clinically efficient six-play, 93-yard drive early in the third quarter, once again capped by Escobar in the end zone.
As ESPN Stats & Info noted, it was the tight end's first game this season with two catches, let alone touchdowns:
Following a fumble by Donnell in Dallas territory, Murray doubled the lead with a one-yard plunge.
The Giants had an impressive response, as Beckham finished off an 80-yard drive with his second touchdown of the game. But the Cowboys drove right back down the field on the backs of Murray and Bryant to set up a 49-yard field goal for Dan Bailey.
Another fumble from Donnell then sealed the win for Dallas.
The Cowboys will look to extend their winning ways next week against the Washington Redskins at home. It's unknown who will be under center for Washington, but it shouldn't matter with the way Dallas' offense is clicking.
As for New York, now losers of two straight, the bye week is coming at the right time. It'll need to get back on track in Week 9 against the surging Indianapolis Colts.
