Colts' Reggie Wayne Becomes 9th Player with 14,000 Career Receiving Yards
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne caught four passes for just 15 yards in Sunday's 27-0 win over the Cincinnati Bengals to become the ninth player in NFL history with 14,000 or more receiving yards.
The 35-year-old career-long Colt now has exactly 14,000 yards through the air, leaving him four behind James Lofton (14,004) for eighth place on the all-time list.
Though still on pace for a respectable 992 receiving yards this season, Wayne has taken a back seat to teammate T.Y. Hilton, whose 711 receiving yards lead the AFC. Easily the team's top two receivers in terms of receptions, targets and yardage, Hilton and Wayne oddly have each caught just one of quarterback Andrew Luck's 19 touchdown passes.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
While perhaps just the second option in his team's offense, Wayne seemingly still has enough left in the tank to surpass former running mate Marvin Harrison's franchise record of 14,580 receiving yards, which is also good for seventh place on the all-time list.
Harrison was often viewed as the more dangerous of the two while they played together from 2001 to 2008, but Wayne was the team's top receiver for the last few years of a stretch that started when he was drafted in the first round in 2001.
The future Hall of Famers have put together similar careers, though Harrison's 128 touchdowns are far beyond Wayne's 81. Harrison had 1,102 receptions and led the Colts in receiving yards seven times (1999-2003, 2005, 2006), while Wayne thus far has 1,044 catches and has also led the team in receiving seven times (2004, 2007-2012).
Wayne, still only 12 months removed from suffering a torn ACL, needs to average 64.5 receiving yards over the final nine games to pass Harrison on both the franchise and all-time receiving yardage lists by the end of the season.
If he can't quite reach the mark this year, Wayne will likely get there early next year, assuming he wants to play another season. With the way Luck has played, that's probably looking like a more and more attractive prospect with each day, though the veteran is only signed through 2014.
