Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against Jerry Jones Dismissed
A Dallas County judged has dismissed the sexual assault lawsuit brought against Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones ahead of Thursday's scheduled hearings.
Robert Wilonsky of The Dallas Morning News reports both sides confirmed the case, in which Jana Weckerly sought more than $1 million in damages for an alleged incident in 2009, was closed. An attorney representing Jones released a brief statement.
"We are pleased with the Court's Judgment against Ms. Weckerly," Levi McCathern II stated. "Ms. Weckerly's allegations were false. This case is over."

The report also included comments from Thomas Bowers, who represented the plaintiff, saying he and Weckerly would not fight the ruling.
“[We] do not contest the Judgment as entered by the Court. Neither Jerry Jones nor the Cowboys organization has paid us any money,” he said.
L.P. Phillips of KRLD notes no further information about the terms of the agreement reached early Thursday would be released:
Weckerly had claimed Jones sexually assaulted her at a hotel five years ago. The Associated Press (via ESPN Dallas Fort Worth) provided the details of the alleged attack.
Jones maintained his innocence throughout the case, and one hearing originally scheduled for Thursday was about his attempt to dismiss the case.
