Vontaze Burfict Reportedly Will Be Fined for Conduct vs. Cam Newton, Greg Olsen

After making some questionable tackles in a Week 6 tie against the Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict's wallet will reportedly be a bit lighter.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Pro Bowler out of Arizona State will be fined $25,000 for his actions in Sunday's game:

Per Black & Blue Review, this marks the fourth fine of Burfict's three-year NFL career:

As seen in these images courtesy of Panthers photographer Jeremy Igo, Burfict seemed to twist Panthers tight end Greg Olsen's ankle after tackling him:

According to ESPN.com, Olsen claims that Burfict targeted quarterback Cam Newton's ankle as well. He also called for the NFL to suspend the Cincinnati defender:

"

Punishment needs to go beyond a fine. Guys like that don't learn from that stuff. He's been fined a hundred times for headhunting, and he did it to Kelvin again. You watch the film; that's just what he is.

At some point, if the NFL wants to really say they care about guys' safety, they've got to start putting guys out for weeks. Me and Cam are lucky we aren't out for weeks, or Kelvin isn't out for weeks. If you're going to start putting guys on other teams out, then the ramifications need to equal that.

"

The league did precisely what Olsen hoped it wouldn't, and one can only assume that he isn't particularly happy with Burfict's punishment.

Per ESPN's Ed Werder, Olsen likely isn't the only person within the NFL who feels that way:

There is no room for intent to injure in the NFL, and while it was apparently ruled that Burfict was guilty of that, he somehow escaped without a suspension.

If the league continues to be this lenient, it will be interesting to see how other players react.
