3 Key Themes of the Social Chatter from the Orioles vs. Royals Game 3
For one side, it was the continuation of what has already been an incredible journey. For the other, it was the harsh reality of facing a seemingly insurmountable 3-0 deficit in a series. Either way, the Kansas City Royals and the Baltimore Orioles left Kauffman Stadium after Tuesday night's contest with polar-opposite mindsets.
The Royals' 2-1 win in Game 3 of the ALCS not only extended their postseason winning streak to 10, dating back to 1985, but it also put them just one win away from returning to the World Series after a 29-year absence.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
It was an entertaining game throughout, and here are three of the most intriguing topics Bleacher Report gathered from the social media surrounding this contest.
Jarrod Dyson Talked the Talk, but Also Walked the Walk
After the Royals' Game 2 win on Saturday in Baltimore, their outfielder and speedster Jarrod Dyson told the media that he does not think the series will head back to the city for a possible Game 6 or 7.
“No, sir, I don’t. And I don’t think they think that way, either," Dyson said while referring to the Orioles, according to Craig Calcaterra of NBC Sports.
Dyson's comments drew some heat leading up to Tuesday night's contest, but he managed to back up his belief with a couple of key plays on Tuesday night.
Comcast SportsNet's Rich Dubroff set the scene for what transpired.
Dyson was not able to record a stolen base while he was on, but he did manage to go from first to third on Eric Hosmer's single with one out to set himself up in scoring position.
Dyson went on to score on a Billy Butler sacrifice fly to left, which turned out to be the game-winning run.
After the game, The Kansas City Star's Andy McCullough tweeted Dyson's reaction to the buzz surrounding his previous comments.
Moose Flashes the Leather
The Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas is having quite the postseason. With four clutch home runs already this October, it's safe to say that he's doing his part at the plate. On Tuesday night, however, the man they call "Moose" made two sparkling plays at the hot corner to show off his glove skill as well.
The first highlight came in the fourth inning when Moustakas snagged a screaming line drive off the bat of Steve Pearce.
The play of the night and perhaps the entire postseason, however, came two innings after when Moustakas did this.
Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan had his own impressions on the play.
ESPN Stats & Info also thinks there should be reservations for Moustakas' plays on Baseball Tonight's highlight reels.
Royals Bullpen Comes Through Again
After their starter Jeremy Guthrie gave them five innings of one-run ball on 94 pitches, manager Ned Yost turned to his trusty bullpen to preserve the lead.
Veteran Jason Frasor got the call first and pitched a 1-2-3 sixth inning to serve as the bridge to Kansas City's three-headed bullpen monster of Kelvin Herrera, Wade Davis and Greg Holland.
MASN Sports' Steve Melewski provided some numbers that did not favor the O's chances leading into the final innings.
Those numbers only worsened after Herrera and Davis combined for two perfect innings and three strikeouts.
The Royals weren't able to tack on any insurance runs during the bottom half of those frames, but a one-run lead was enough for Holland as he needed just six pitches to retire the heart of the Orioles' order in Adam Jones, Nelson Cruz and Steve Pearce.
Going Forward
The Royals will get their first of four chances to advance to the World Series right away as the two sides square off on Wednesday, with the first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. ET.
However, history suggests that the Orioles aren't that easy to get rid of, as pointed out by Dubroff.
The Orioles will send Miguel Gonzalez to the mound hoping to keep that particular streak alive, while the Royals hope Jason Vargas can get the job done.
The best chance the Orioles have at staying alive and extending the series would be to get some runs on the board early, especially considering what Guthrie's performance on Tuesday night really meant to the Royals.
Otherwise, it will just be another six-inning game that the Royals will take advantage of before they eventually host Game 1 of the 2014 World Series.
