Top Stars
Alessandro Del Piero

Club: Delhi Dynamos
Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero needs no introduction. The legendary striker has spent the past two seasons with Australia's Sydney FC, greatly adding to the popularity of the sport Down Under.
The Italian understands his role in this new venture all too well. He's the ISL's biggest name and top star, and his job is to raise awareness and be the perfect ambassador for the league. He's been doing just that through his Twitter feed:
The 2006 World Cup winner told Il Foglio he has joined the league to help the sport grow in India, never even mentioning the sportive aspect of his new club, via Gianlucadimarzio.com's Enrico Passarella:
"Why India? For the same reason why I picked Australia over other proposals I received, closer the reality I had lived until that moment. In India, there are all the conditions in order to make football establish itself, I want to contribute to the raise of the movement, as it happened in Australia. They proposed to me a new adventure with Dynamos Delhi and a parallel professional path as ambassador of the new League that is already drawing the interest of the biggest football realities in the World.
"
Del Piero started Delhi's first match on the bench, receiving a standing ovation when he entered the pitch to take on former teammate David Trezeguet.
Robert Pires

Club: FC Goa
The 40-year-old midfielder will be manager Zico's main man, as he sets out to prove he hasn't yet lost his silk touch. Mostly known for his six wonderful seasons at Arsenal, Robert Pires has been out of football since the 2010-11 season.
He isn't hiding his excitement to be on the pitch again:
FC Goa are viewed as the early favourites to win the inaugural edition of the ISL, and they'll be counting on the former French international to hit top form once again when the play-offs arrive.
Marco Materazzi, Mikael Silvestre

Club: Chennaiyin FC
Like Pires, Marco Materazzi hasn't been with a club since 2011. Unlike the Frenchman, however, the Italian defender will be Chennaiyin's manager and lace up his boots, giving the former Inter Milan man a whole lot of responsibility.
He'll be joined in defence by 37-year-old Mikael Silvestre, giving Chennaiyin the most experienced and star-studded back line in the ISL.
The duo most hope their age doesn't show too much, however, or their lack of pace could be abused by some of the league's more nimble and younger forwards.
Other notable stars: Trezeguet, David James, Nicolas Anelka, Fredrik Ljungberg, Joan Capdevilla, Luis Garcia.
