Teddy Bridgewater, Cordarrelle Patterson's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 6
Things aren't exactly looking good for the Minnesota Vikings offense following very disappointing performances from rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. While Detroit's defense has emerged as one of the league's best, these highly inefficient showings are very discomforting for fantasy owners.
Here's a look at how both players fared in Week 6:

Bridgewater's dismal performance wasn't a sign of his inability to quarterback an NFL team; rather it was his offensive line's inability to provide sufficient protection. He was pressured early and often Sunday, resulting in 12 quarterback hits and eight sacks for the Lions defense.
Chris Burke of Sports Illustrated tweeted an exaggerated take on what all onlookers were thinking:
While Bridgewater did manage to produce some positive yards while displaying a nice amount of poise in the pocket, he simply can't be considered a starting fantasy quarterback until these protection issues are corrected. The rookie signal-caller is worth a roster spot, but he should be relegated to the bench for now.
Patterson was thought to be a breakout candidate by many fantasy enthusiasts this season. After a huge touchdown run in Week 1, he appeared to be headed in that direction; however, he hasn't done much of anything since.
Even with Bridgewater in at quarterback, Patterson has failed to sustain any fantasy significance. He was targeted a team-high eight times Sunday, but that didn't equate to production. Making matters worse for the receiver, he may still be dealing with a lingering hip injury, via Matt Vensel of The Minneapolis Star Tribune:
Until we see Patterson at full speed, and offensive coordinator Norv Turner makes an effort to utilize the speedy receiver in a more efficient manner, fantasy owners are best off leaving him on the bench.
