Tom Brady, Julian Edelman's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 6
Just when you thought Tom Brady was done being an effective fantasy football quarterback, he comes through with back to back big games. Despite this, Julian Edelman has not been a big beneficiary of this production.
In the first four games of the season, Brady never threw more than one touchdown pass and averaged just 197.8 passing yards per game. At this point, it would not have been surprising to see the veteran quarterback be dropped in fantasy football leagues around the country.
However, he has bounced back in a big way. After torching the Cincinnati Bengals for 292 passing yards and two touchdowns in Week 5, he was just as good against the Buffalo Bills in Week 6 with his second multi-touchdown game in a row.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Here is a look at his numbers from Sunday:
| 27/37 | 361 | 9.8 | 4 | 0 |
His first score came on a one-yard pass to tight end Tim Wright, who is slowly becoming a bigger part of this offense. The second one was a long throw to Brian Tyms in triple coverage that was placed in a perfect spot for his receiver to come down with it, a play that impressed ESPN:
ESPN's Skip Bayless believes this could be a new top option for Brady:
Of course, the receiver did not receive much attention the rest of the game as Brady continued to spread the ball around, as noted by Ben Volin of The Boston Globe:
This allowed Brady to move the football and get into the end zone, once again showing he can be a trustworthy option in fantasy. With three straight home games coming up against the New York Jets, Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos, three teams with question marks in the secondary, Brady could be a QB1 for all of them.
On the other hand, the diversity in the offense is not a good sign for Edelman, who was the quarterback's favorite target last season. The receiver had three big games to start the year but has slowed down lately with limited yardage.
He ended up with decent numbers although much of this came in garbage time:
| 9 | 91 | 10.1 | 0 | 12 |
While Edelman remains a quality option in PPR leagues, he does not get enough points in regular leagues to put in your lineup. Based on his production, he might be a quality sell-high candidate to those who think more is coming.
Otherwise, simply only use him in favorable matchups.
