Danny Trevathan just can't catch a break. The Denver Broncos linebacker was only appearing in his second game after returning from a fractured knee suffered in training camp, only to be carted off the field Sunday against the New York Jets.
Patrick Smyth, the vice president of public relations for the Broncos, has more:
Mike Klis of The Denver Post provides an update on Trevathan's injury:
"While X-rays taken here Sunday were negative, the Broncos must wait until a more revealing magnetic resonance imaging exam is done Monday before determining the extent of Danny Trevathan's left knee injury.
There is concern Trevathan might have suffered ligament damage, although there wasn't much looseness in the knee. An MRI would determine the extent of ligament damage, if any.
"
Trevathan was one of Denver's top players in their run to the Super Bowl last year, finishing the regular season with 129 tackles, two sacks, three forced fumbles, three interceptions and 10 pass deflections. This year, however, simply staying on the field has been a struggle for the young linebacker.
