Dwayne Allen, Coby Fleener's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 6
The Indianapolis Colts' aerial attack was incredibly sharp during the team's 33-28 victory over the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football. While T.Y. Hilton was the primary beneficiary of Andrew Luck's passing prowess, tight ends Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener played big roles as well.
Here's a look at how the duo fared in Week 6:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
While Allen didn't come away with a touchdown for his fantasy owners on Thursday, he reaffirmed his standing as the team's No. 1 option at the tight end position. He may have only hauled in three passes, but his seven targets were only fewer than the nine generated by both Hilton and Reggie Wayne.
Allen may not be able to stretch the field, but he has a knack of coming away with difficult receptions over the middle and has shown reliable hands this season. In fact, Pro Football Focus (subscription required) ranks Allen as the league's 11th-most efficient tight end with a positive-2.0 grade. That's been blatantly apparent in the red zone this season, as Allen's scored four times in six games.
Even before Thursday's game, Chris Wesseling of Around the NFL was in Allen's corner:
Taking Allen's increased targets and red-zone looks into consideration, he's quickly approaching TE1 territory. This is a very thin position, and if this current trend continues, he'll warrant a spot in starting lineups on a weekly basis.
Fleener scored his third touchdown of the season against Houston, but he didn't do much more than that. With high expectations entering the NFL, Fleener has been a slight disappointment to this point—he's struggled with drops, his route running needs improvement and he isn't much of a blocker. As a result, it's a possibility he could begin to be phased out of the Colts' offensive scheme.
On Thursday, an ugly red-zone series culminated in a mistimed route by Fleener which led to fourth down and an eventual field goal. Bleacher Report's Collin McCollough shared his thoughts:
Fleener should be considered a TE2 going forward. He shouldn't find his way into starting lineups, but he does hold some value as a handcuff to Allen in deeper leagues or as a last-resort bye-week replacement. He hasn't shown consistency with Indianapolis, and it's very difficult to have any confidence in him from a fantasy perspective.
